I was actually in OC last week for their Jeep Week Event. The organizer of the event worked with the OC police and was allowed a parade of 250 jeep down the beach. It was pretty cool to be in a line of 250 jeeps rolling down the beach. No problems with the parade and eveyone on the beach loved seeing us coming down the beach. Hopefully this is the start to something permanent.
 
I generally avoid OC b/c it's just a ridiculous overpriced tourist trap. Also don't attend Jeep Week b/c it's gay.. and I don't own a jeep.. I have a real truck :D. We've heard all kinds of cases of people getting ticketed and hassled for stupid crap like not having doors or fenders not quite covering tires.
But in all seriousness, yes this is encouraging. Unfortunately this state is quite full of liberal mumbo jumbo so who knows if it will stick.
