OK, I just don't get it... it says:

Fitting Size 1: -8 AN
Fitting Attachment 1: Male threads
Fitting Size 2: -8 AN
Fitting Attachment 2: Male threads

But I don't see any way in hell to attach a line to the other side of it and have it seal.

Background - I need to run fuel line inside my fuel cell to attach to the pickup. But with the fitting like this that you can supposedly attach another -8 line to sure as hell doesn't look like an AN fitting, and it's not NPT either..

Plastic cell, so welding something on is obviously out of the question..

I ran into the same problems. And I remember shaking my head that those same pictures... Shit aint intuative.

I needed to run a hose inside my plastic tank and hook it up to a TBI fuel pump. I needed -8AN for the outside of the tank, but needed to run 3/8 hose on the inside to connect to the pump. I ended using my stock -8AN male to -8AN male and somehow found a -8AN female to -6AN barbed fitting from Summit.

That probably didn't help, but good luck.

ag supply has larger ones. I will be using these for the filler for my new poly grease tank. I think the smalliset is 3/4 pipe

You're looking at the wrong ones, but close... You need a bulkhead union rather than just bulkhead fitting, like renegade said. http://store.summitracing.com/partd...924496+4294839052+4294923333+115&autoview=sku

You'll also need one of these http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?N=700+4294924496+4294839052+115+4294923330

As much as I love summit...you're in raleigh so I'd try to find one local.

I guess I was hoping for an all-in-one solution, since even with that bulkhead union AND a jamnut, I'll also need to source the teflon washers to make it seal, which is my big issue..

looks like you have two plain bulkhead fittings for like a bottom sump pan.

That's what I figured as well, but why would it list "fitting #2" as being a -8 also? Mis-information.. :shaking:

Bildo - the blue fitting I pictured would appear to have a couple of threads that will still be exposed after tightening everything - you're saying a -8 female gave you an airtight seal? The fittings in my cell are exactly like the blue one.

The one you just showed the picture of is the one you need. You just need the teflon washers like you said. They should have those as well. Then just run your fuel hose with push lock or barb fittings. Just make sure you use true fuel hose so the outer cover doesnt get eaten and fall apart in your cell.

If you come to Charlotte try BSR Products down the street from Lowes Motor Speedway. They are way cheaper than Jegs or Summit. Summit acts like their AN fittings are gold plated. BSR has lots of fuel goodies.

Cool. I'm just making a list of the fittings & lines I need right now in order to get the rig on the trailer under its own power.. This will be added.

I guess I am not completely following the question.

With the bulkhead fitting through the tank, then the jam nut on (plus plastic washers), that gave the tank an air tight seal. Then I screwed the -8AN female to the bottom of the bulkhead fitting insidet he tank. The -6AN barbed side of the last fitting was attached to the fuel pump the whole time.

Here is my setup. The barbed fitting pictured is -8AN, not the -6AN i finally found and installed.

Along these same lines is the blue/black push on/socket less hose suitable for intank use ? I've searched the eaton/aeroquip site and was not able to find anything there..

i am using the fitting that came with my summit tank, which has 37 deg flares on both ends.

Whoever you get the hose from make sure it is fuel rated. Otherwise it will break down and you'll have jelly or worse than that pieces floating around. Just my.02

What do you recommend that's kinda flexible? I'm doing a multiple pickup and / or a weighted hose setup.

I'm using goodyear fuel injected, high pressure line from autozone. about $3.60/ft. This is probably less flexable than common fuel line, which should work just fine in your application. As soon as oil hits these hoses is when the problems start occurring.

Are there any brand names or types that are good or bad?

I guess I'm not exactly sure what 'fuel rated' means in relation to in tank use. Some types I've seen/have/used etc are.
as mentioned above - Goodyear high pressure fuel injection hose from Advance Auto/A-Zone etc..
or the Aeroquip (or other brands) pushlock type hose?

thanks -mike

i have no idea about this fitting question but why don't you just run rubber line down to the pump

However to the rubber hose questions, fuel rated hose is fuel injection hose and it is rated for presure (not chemical rating)on fuel injected cars that run rubber lines, and these rubber lines can have hose clamps just a higher quality of clamp to seal them, a basic rubber hose in a fuel tank is not going to deteriate unless the gas has gotten so old that it is eating everything. as far as gas eating hoses look at all the carb'd vehicles that have rubber lines the gas sits inside and the rubber is the same inside as it is out so it would eat it away from the inside if this was true.
