Doing the Ford Edge Wobble

Admittedly...anything newer than 1985, I'm not even sure my tools fit, so please pardon my ignorance. Anyway, the little lady's 2007 Edge just got new tires on about 10,000 miles ago, rotated 5k ago. A bout a month ago, she noticed a wobble in the steering wheel, nothing serious, just a slight wobble on shallow left hand turns. Fast forward a month, I drive the car for the first time, it has become a pretty serious wobble, but still only on shallow left hand turns, sharp left turns and anything to the right is 100% fine. However, over the course of the last month, the outside shoulder on the front left/drivers side tire has almost worn to nothing and darn near junked the tire, with a good chunk of that wear coming this week.

I jacked the front end up, turned the wheel side to side, I didn't see any play in the ball joint or the rod ends/links, the strut seemed fine. I yanked and pulled on anything and everything that had a joint...I could not create any sort of play. I didn't see any signs of a bad belt, even put it on a balancer today, everything checks out.

Suggestions, thoughts, advice??? Here are some pics from last night, I don't see anything jumping out at me as bad:

Thanks in advance.

Stupid question... but did you try turning the tires a little to the left and checking to see if anything changed?

Yeah I sure did...

Kinda sounds like a tierod end.
Swap sides on the tires and see if anything changes.

Ding ding...we have a winner. I did a little more digging...read online that with the push pull, derivatives of problems can start from the opposite side. Lifted the front end of the Edge up...sure as all things that are holy...the passenger side outer tie rod is garbage. I woulda never guessed. Sound plausible???
