I just got a set of the white VisionX tantrum LED rock lights and I want to hook them up to a switch vs. the cigarette lighter.
Are there any posts or instructions on how to do this?
Looking at the kit, I assume all I need to do is from the cigarette lighter power source before the control module cut that off, strip the wires back and run a positive with an inline fuse to the pos terminal on the battery through a switch and the negative from the switch to the battery? I've done LED's on bikes but not on the jeep. I would appreciate any guidance, diagrams etc on how to bypass the lighter connection and wire this into a switch.

Thanks in advance.

I had them on rig before very easy to install but I cut lighter part out just used toggle switch...I didn't use any relays(since led's didn't pull much)I had them for 3years never had problem out it!!

Edit but I put fuse in between the battery

If I am over simplifying this I apologize mayeb I am mis reading your question.

A Cig adapter works becasue the back of the "tube" has a positive (+) pin and the body of the tube is a ground (-) source. The male pin tht extends from a plug in adapter picks up the (+) and the "fins" that pop out of the side pick up the (-).

So....All you need is + and - and you get the same thing. That + can come from the Battery or from another circuit. If possible I would run it to the fuse panel and pick up your + there. Then you can determine if it needs constant power or key on power only. (Hint if you dont need to use them with key off, key on only is the right answer. You read all these horror ghost drain stories...this is the culprit 99% of the time.) For the (-) all you need is to run it to the chassis or any bare piece of metal that is electrically connected to the chassis.

If you are already in the cab often you can find a dash support that is bare.
