I'm in Cary until tomorrow w/ some time to kill.
Was thinking about running out for lunch to get BBQ.
Any suggestions? I'm at Tryon and Walnut (near Crossroads)

Likewise if anybody wants to meet up to chat, beer or whatever, I'm up for it.

You'll notice that none of those are in Cary, because Cary is filled with Long Island expats who think BBQ is a thing you do in the back yard to a chicken on a Saturday afternoon.

yeah, I knew that.. I grew up here and watched it get overrun.

Off to The Pit!
Danny's is closer, but looks like it is more like St Louis/Brown style. Yummy but not quite what I think of w/ NC.
Probably perfect for Cary though lol.

Hit The Pit. It was fantastic. I think I've been there many years ago.
I like that the pulled pork comes w/o a whole ton of sauce already on it so you can season to taste. Perfect.

Now for dinner choices...

City? where is that at?

seriously though back yard bbq is the best "down east" style bbq in this area. regardless they have the best hushpuppies period...

Kildare farm rd. north of Cary pkwy. beside the IHOP and near Outback Steakhouse, Good food and large portions.

You'd be missing out if you didn't go by Smokey's over on 54 right past Airport. Everything is good. Just make sure you get there by 11:30 for lunch if you want I get a seat. I suggest the pulled pork and smoked wings.
