Well I naturally made a poor choice and got my wife's gx470 stuck while spending time away in asheville. Anyone in the area with a winch want to make some money? Im out 63 west of Leicester. It's not stuck deep or anything. Just down a grassy road. About 100 feet off pavement. With all this rain I just have no traction. I'd be grateful for any help. 919798752four

Sent this to a friend that might be able to help

FYI the first question is going to be, is this on land you have legal right to be on.
Good luck, hopefully somebody can help ya out.

To make some light of the situation, at least your kids are gonna be able to look back and say "remember that time when dad got us stuck in moms car, man was she ever pissed" lol best of luck. I'd help but I'm hours away......

I wish there was an internet w a site like this, or cell phones when I used to get stuck o_O .......got myself out a few times, walked a mile or more to knock on a door a few times too.
Anybody remember ever leaving a rig overnight? Anybody ever leave a rig and your dads tractor overnight because you buried them both? Trespassing none the less? Yeah I was really stupid about 20 years ago.

I walked barefoot over mud and gravel 3/4 mile to asphalt and then another 1/4 mile to get help to get unstuck on Christmas eve back before cell phones.
Found a party, drunk guys...they had a 80s Wagoneer....got me out but I wondered a few times if I would be better off waiting til morning LOL

The nose of the truck was in 3' of water and it was a sharp dropoff behind the door.
Rear tires were on solid ground. Took my shoes off, rolled up pants and jumped off into muddy mess.
Got to solid ground, realized I left my shoes in the seat.....said WTH and started walking wet and barefoot in mid 40's temps.

Ahhhh, the good old days.

1984 I lived in Goldsboro attending WCC. A classmate who lived on base w his enlisted wife took I and a friend fishing at a pond in a large farm field outside town were he had permission to fish. It had rained a lot and he was overconfident his stock ( w mud tires ) Ford 4x4 truck could get to the pond. I and the other friend had second thoughts when we saw/entered the very wet, somewhat flat, cut field. Dumbass cut the corner of the vague path/road saying something like " this truck never gets stuck" and punched it when we began to sink, then he buried the truck to the bumpers. We walked to the farmers house and he spoke to him. The farmer brought his tractor w a big disc attached, I asked if he wanted to drop the disk before we left the barn but he declined, prolly did'nt matter. We arrived and hooked about 75' of chain to the truck, the tractor was sinking that far from the sink. The tractor pulled a wheelie and buried itself to the axle in a momment. Another farmer brought another tractor an hour or 2 later and hooked to the first one, and buried it too. The truck and both tractors sat in the field for almost 2 weeks until another tractor could pull them all out after it dried out a bit. Made a big mess of the field and I'm pretty sure dumbass paid a few 3 hundred dollars to the farmers for their trouble and I'm sure he was not welcome to fish the pond anymore. I wondered later if the farmers knew exactly what they were doing all along, they sure were not gonna be plowing anytime soon so they might as well make some money while they waited for the spring fields to dry a bit :D

I grew up in rural Randolph county and I used to see trucks stuck around field edges and woodlines alot. They would set there until it thawed or dried out enough to get them out. My dad had a buddy with a Ford 9000 "shortdog" mobile home mover with 1000' of cable mounted on this massive rear mounted hydraulic winch. He would get as close as he felt comfortable, drop the big ole outriggers and then let us set up whatever we needed to get hooked to the stuck vehicle. When he pulled the lever you were either coming out or parts were coming off!! Good old dude, we used his setup several times.

Yes exactly they talked about it the whole way home. Nothing like climbing through the mud with for toddlers and a three-month-old

Thank you guys so much for all of your help. I greatly appreciate it. I'm not in hot water with the wife anymore.

Man, I don't know how long you have been married, but you have a hell of a lot to learn. You are still in hot water over this, and always will be. You wait, she'll bring it up in 20 years. She might forgive, but she'll never forget.

Whole lotta truth right here.......
