Building a pole barn, ready to order some doors. I need two 16 wide x 14 high sectional roll up, insulated doors. Nothing fancy, just plain panel doors. I have a couple quotes from just calling the first places google lists. Holy hell, almost as much as I have in the entire rest of the building!!! Anyone got any good suggestions of who to call or any online sources? I can drive to get them, not a problem. I will install myself (that's the plan anyway).

They will actually come in like 2' sections at 16' wide. The biggest question would be if you are installing yourself. If installing yourself, go with import from SC and save a few hundred. If not, you have no choice but to buy what the installer has in stock...

sECTIONS CAN HAVE WINDOWS / NOT HAVE / BE INSULATED / NOT BE INSULATED.

Oops, hit caps too lazy to retype.

Build your own :D
I got the one for my house from craigslist. There's deals to be found occasionally, but good luck finding 2 that match.

Call Fairborn equipment in raleigh 9198442330. Ask for Andy. I was a tech there for a long time. He should be able to get you a decent price and they could prob deliver the doors for you also

I think the boss built our shop 8 years ago or so we have 10 x 12 or 10 x 14 doors and he said they were 3 grand a piece then and they are a lot smaller than you are wanting also ours are insulated

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have called 5 or 6 places around central NC. It never ceases to amaze me how prices can differ for very similar products and work. I have prices ranging from $3300 for the two doors (that company is also the lowest cost installer at $225/door) to $6300 (and $550/door to install). I still have a couple calls in to some of the suggestions above so we'll see. Trying to figure out if I can make a sliding door work so I can just build it myself. I don't know what goes into these that makes them so expensive but it just seems insane to me for sheet metal and foam.

We built large metal barn doors on my father in laws shop. Framed out of 1.5" square tubing. Sheeted in 12 guage ( I think) and home made hinge/pins.

Surprisingly easy to manuever and we are right at $1,000 for 16' wide and 20' tall
