I've been toying with the idea of getting my wife and son a UTV so they can join me on the trails when I'm riding my dual sport moto.
I've done a bit of reading and it seems like 50" width is kind of a "standard" for limiting what can and can't access a trail. Is it similar to the law that says 16" barrels are safe, but 15.9" barrels require a tax stamp (I think these are the lengths anyways)? Meaning, what's the logic behind a magical 50" rule?
Next question. There a lot of internet debate about 50" being unsafe because of rollovers. I doubt my wife will see any great speed in this thing, so the turning sharply at speed which could lead to rollover, isn't really a concern for me. I'm more concerned about if the 50" width is a concern for an average user.
Any input on CF Moto? From what I can tell, they are Chinese made parts, built in Canada? A lot of dealers in my area seem to carry them. Again, I'm not looking for something to try and run Dakar with. I want something that my wife can get around trails on.
500cc or 800cc? Is electronic power steering important?
Thanks in advance for the input. I always appreciate NC4x4's users.
