Ok, let me take this a step further. Do you have your original wheeler because you're a cheap ass or because you really like it
Sentiment. If I were cheap, I would have sold it a long time ago. I like it, but the idea of an XJ/WJ/JKU with 4 doors and some cargo space seems more practical for family wheeling. Sentiment because it got me through high school and college, was the first vehicle I bought and paid for, is part of why I met my wife, it's what we drove away from our wedding in, and it's why I know so much mechanical stuff.

Yes! Bought my 97 tj with 6k..wheeled it stock. Then started modding it. Wheeled alot of places and have alot of memories. Then, I sold it to a member on here. That was a sad day. Kept in contact with the buyer for 9 years.
One day he called and asked if I wanted it back. So, last summer, I went and bought it back. Been having it fixed up for the past year. Lots of new parts. Been a slow process, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I will be back on the trails very soon.

Definitely the latter. I built it into a unique rig that will never be copied.

Yup, still got mine. 79 F250 4x4. It don't run right now but its still complete. I always played in the mud and rode around in the woods, never got into the crawling and bouncing around stuff like most yall do. Maybe one day it will run again.

I ran across my very first beat to shit rig...never 'wheeled' it though. Passed by it the other day...talked to the owner...bought it from the guy I sold it to about 12 years ago.

I'll probably have the coolest custom jeep tailgate ever. Thanks to @WARRIORWELDING . ( you should post that video)

Swing out tailgates aren't good for much, but fold down tailgates are good for alot. I can't wait to cook some lunch on the trail using it as a table.

I would love to build an expedition rig sometime with little things like that all over it. Now all you need it to bolt a burner to it so it can really start making some lunch.

Bought it in 2006 and now it's in the garage sorta getting a somewhat restromod (tons, doubler, and 42s) treatment. Luckily barely any rust issues to deal with.

@iwaxmyjimmy that was a nice K5. What the heck happened to it?

Oh 19 and a lead foot killed the gov bomb, then life happened, then the Army happened and finally started working on it last summer. Drove it around a parking lot after it sat for 10 years and I had swapped 3/4 tons and a 4spd into it. But hopefully this summer I'll get it painted back to the original colors after I finish all the stuff this spring. I spray bombed it because the clear coat was popping and I didn't want a pile of rust worked out pretty good since it's just a few places on the bed near the tailgate and the front inner fenders.
