Non Douche Parking Instruction Thread

I see a lot of douche calling due to parking large trucks. I've seen the tag applied in almost any parking case I can think of.

So...

How to non douche park?
 
Park in the empty part of the lot where it doesnt matter, and then don't give a fuck what other people think.
I tend to do that anyway because I'm not lazy enough to circle a half empty lot 6 times in order to get a space.close to the store, and I also don't trust other people enough to park next to them. I don't have a big vehicle that makes it an issue though.
 
Due to this thread I kinda park all jacked up at the far end of the lot just because. It doesn't matter unless the whole lot is filled.

Dumb parking in a high traffic area is douche.

Don't drive a 3/4 ton or ton truck in Asheville. I sware their parking spots are narrower than a standard space and give up the idea of parking in a parking garage

I saw two trucks PARKED in the contractor PICKUP just last weekend. The owners were nowhere around. The trucks were still there when I left. You can't fix lazy.

My diesel has stock tire size and won't don't fit in a parking garage. I rarely go downtown but if I do it's in a minivan.
 
I always park the old S-10 in the shade under the canopy if there's room @ HD in the summer cause I ain't got no AC, but most of the time I'm picking up lumber or other large stuff. If the canopy is filled I try to find some shade in under the trees in the parkinglot........but most of the time the damn employees are parked in all the shady spots. One hot day a jackass was half in 2 spaces and I parked about 1' from his left door to get in the shade.

With small trucks like my toyota and S-10 I can usually weave all up in there and and park in front of dumasses who don't pull through . I've also parked on the sidewalk a few times, there's still 20' or more space to the building.
 
Pull through or leave your back end flush? Which is more ethical and non douche?

Pull through with the front bumper flush or sticking out a few inches, but my rear bumper is tweaked a bit so I'm not as concerned about it...
 
if i have my trailer hooked up and go to my parts store after 6pm, i try to take up nearly every space in front of the building... after all, it is my store. (no, i dont own it literally), however handicap spots are left open, so i'm clearly not douche. and i seem to be only able to claim 7/8 adjacent spots, and there is one on the other side of handicap. i need a bigger tow vehicle and trailer i guess.

I've noticed that trend on here also. I'm now afraid to pull a trailer if I have to park anywhere.

Last time the wife and I went to Asheville, we drove the Dodge and the clearance sign at a parking garage indicated I would have inches to spare. But once I started into the garage entrance, the clearance sign that hangs down hit my roof rack. Thankfully no Prius-driving Ashevillians were behind me so I was able to back out.

sounds like the parking garage at biltmore park.
 
If someone is parked crooked you can fix it with this, and you can ALWAYS find a spot at the front of the parking lot.

I encountered a parking garage in downtown Charlotte with a clearance of 6'3! :eek: the Yukon was good by an inch but once I saw the size of the spaces on the three floors, I knew I could douche my way in to park but backing out would've been... Uh.. metal on metal. I just parked down the street.
 
The garage at work says 6'8". When I had the Duramax, I stuck a laser level on the roof and measured, 6'8"... with the height of the beam on the level, that gave me an inch of clearance. It fit, but the radio antenna hit every sign.

Current truck height is fine, but it's 19' long. I have to go up a few extra floors to get in spots where there's no one in front of me.
