Random pic thread.

Made 2 more of these today. We like to put them out amongst all the trees in front of the house.

Pretty sure that's a rough green snake. I've seen a few of them over the years but only a few large ones.I was cutting brush/briars w a machete and almost chopped one in half one day. I caught it and showed it to a co-worker. It was a little over 3' long and docile in my hands.

He was probably 2 feet and about as round as your pinky. I picked him up, but he wasn’t happy. Broke a branch so he would chill out and I could show the kids.

I’ve caught a few up near Boone and we’re calm as could be when they realized I wasn’t gonna eat em lol

I picked him up. He was just pissy about it. Put him on that branch and he chilled out so the kids could look at him.

I've caught a bunch of snakes since I was a kid. My dad showed me how when I was probably 6. You never want to squeeze them or not let them move while your handling them, they don't like that at all.If you just let them move and keep putting a hand or arm under them before they drop to the ground they seem to calm down and relax. I've caught a lot of angry snakes w a forked stick behind their heads and grab them right behind their heads. Then let them wrap around your arm, after a moment or so you can release their heads and they generally will just hang out and crawl around your hands/arms if you move slowly and don't startle them. Don't try that with a poisonous snake. I caught a moccasin down @ Holly Shelter w a forked stick when I was 18 and bulletproof. When I grabbed it behind the head and picked it up it wrapped around my arm and squeezed like a constrictor. It was about 3' long and stronger than I imagined it would be. It opened it's mouth wide and venom dripped off it's fangs and onto my hand. After showing it to my classmates and our teacher(who was pissed off at me for obvious reasons) It was hard to peel it off my arm. I finally got it loose and tossed it on the ground where it assumed the classic "mess w me" posture. My arm was red from the squeeze it put on it. I swear it took 2 or 3 days to get the nasty snake stink off my arm and hands no matter how much I washed them.I actually found the snake from it's smell, I smelled it and starting searching, turns out it was about 10' from me and stretched out straight in the edge of the swamp, it looked just like another mossy stick on the ground.

I can still see a lug or two, so it can't be too stuck yet!
