You do know there’s a search function on this site, right? I mean, most here will help, but it’s like you don’t even try to find the answer yourself first.

It’s going on a cj7 steering box do you know if that has the same splines

Yes, the Waggy and CJ power steering boxes have the same output shafts...pitman arms are interchangeable between with them.

If you are using a GM TRE at the pitman arm, it will fit the Waggy arm without without reaming. If you are using a GM drag link end, you will need to ream out the hole larger. Also, just as an FYI, if you are using the common 7/8" GM rod ends, they are actually 1/2 & 3/4 ton parts even though they are commonly marketed as "GM 1 ton" by off road companies. True GM 1 ton TRE's have a 1" shank...Just in case you ever need one off the shelf from the parts store.

How long is the waggy pitman arm and thanks for the info

That’s way to long I have to get the bracket that moves the steering box forward and a pitman arm drilled at 5.25 inches

Did you move the front axle forward? I'm running the MORE bracket that moved the box 1" forward, but I also moved the axle forward ~1" when I did the shackle reversal. With the Waggy arm, I've still got nearly an inch of clearance between the TR and DL at the pitman arm.

edit: I'm running high steer, so that may be the difference...I think the TR hole is closer the axle than the one on the knuckles.

I did not move the axle I’m only moving the steering box if I move the axle I will have to do new mounts when I get the pitman arm and you team it to 5.25 inches that will give me about 1/2 to 1 inch of clearence

If you use a shorter than stock pitman arm, won't you lose turning radius? Just thinking out loud here. Your stock arm should be around 6.75", right?

Absolutely! Using one of the "universal CJ/YJ/TJ/XJ" pitmans (5.5" center<>center) on an axle made prior to '87, will result in 1/3 of that range vanishing!

Just wanted to post the size difference between the stock pitman arm and the pitman arm from parts mike

As for moving the steering box, I was looking at mine today. Already knew looking Under, that the Bracket would need to mount in same location, but assumed the bracket would mount the box more forward. I happen to look on top top today. Gee, that's where my PS metal lines are! Nearly touching the front cross member. So, wth? You have to notch out the cross member? Take another look & study Your's carefully.

center to center hole on a stock flat cj7 pitman arm is 6.75 can anyone tell how much of a difference in steering would it make to drill the hole to 6.5 or is anyone running a shorter pitman arm
