Looking for some recommendations and or ideas of how to get a large (2k lbs or more) toolbox from New Jersey to Mars Hill area.

Anything other than a trailer is going to be pretty pricey. You could ship it ltl with a company that offers lift gate service but it would still need to be forkliftable.

Be ready to pay though. I paid $1000 week before last to get 500lbs from long island to NC
Holy shit.
I just paid 950 to get 7800lb from osh kosh wi to Charleston sc.
It wasn't dedicated and took 4 days buy I had the time

Ha, mine was dedicated and time sensitive.

2 specialty (Big) bearings from Long Island (add 25% because LI). I had to have them or production stopped. Was well worth the cost.

The only "rush" would be pickup. Doesn't matter if it takes a week to arrive. Looks like I can purchase a trailer for $1,600 that would carry it but towing with a Jeep JL might not be a lot of fun.

If you can get it on a pallet and to an estes terminal give them a call. Book rate is stupid for ltl. I pay way way less for daily shipments. Fwiw, if anyone local to me (selma nc) needs something big shipped, shoot me a pm. I can run it through my acct and get you a deal if you can get it to my location for pickup.

Fuck Estes.

They still have one engine I shipped that they damaged and didn’t reimburse me for nor delivered.

26’ box truck with lift gate. Move it and many other things at the same time, and put your Jeep in a trailer. All in one shot.

Fixed it for you!
The only 2 real issues: ramps to load/unload the Jeep and zero provisions for strapping the Jeep down
Ramps?
Its a Jeep right?

Oh yeah, He will need ramps

I used a 26’ Penske when I moved from NC to La. I loaded my HD RoadHlide in the back at the local tractor supply loading dock.
Edit: don’t get a Penske. That thing was a detuned TURD!!

I have seen a guy load a jeep with a lift gate 1 axle at a time lol

While I have firsthand knowledge of loading a SWB Jeep into a truck via the liftgate... good luck pulling that off with the UN-lifted 110"+ wheelbase the OP stated :D

Where a fixed load ramp/dock will make it a <5 minute job at each end...
