MOTD (Meme of the Day)

Guy in front row got fired that day.
Let's hope that the tide on that is turning. I think now that the press managed to get the Orange Man out of office, they are willing to be slightly more objective vs. serving as a propaganda tool.

This has allowed some recent views to make it out to the masses that allowing looting and standing by as criminals take over sections of a city may not actually be desirable to a civilized society.

Call me optimistic. But I think the pendulum will be swinging right in the next couple years.

You're new to how the press operates in this country aren't you

Kidding

From what I see from my little window into the world (tv/movies/interwebs) the extreme left has always controlled what appears on television, movies, and what airs as "news".

When ANYTHING swings even remotely towards the middle, there's a new thing to scare the public with, or a new mass shooting, or some other diversion that keeps your attention away from the world correcting it's left lean. Just long enough to where you can be manipulated again into seeing things their way.

I guess my optimism is based on my perspective. I came into thinking age during the 80s (I was a 5 y.o. at the election party for Ronald Reagan). So, I saw the swing right that lasted a decade until Bush was a product of his own success and lost to Clinton.

I see your point that the trend of a soft nation is to march towards self indulgence and distance ourselves to hard realities. But I'm hoping our current environment serves to shock the system a little bit and get some folks active in keeping our nation on an even keel.

The pendulum will swing back right when, and only when, another nation rises up and challenges us and the soft piss down their leg and run and hide and ask the right to save them.

Sorry for being overly dramatic but we were headed here until 9/11. Then we galvanized against a common enemy.
2 decades past the last time many felt scared of a real threat, here we go again...

what that old expression about the tree of libetry being fertilized by blood

Hate to say it....you've got a point. But I agree.

I haven't heard that expression in quite some time. Probably since the days when I had Drill Instructors on moto runs shouting "What makes the grass grow!?" To which the only proper response was "BLOOD!" ...although I'm sure the Corps today is a little more flaccid than that, unfortunately.

But you're definitely right. That's the only time it'll swing back right is when we've got another tremendous national threat.

Or triggered by internally contributed strife. Which might happen if our gov-co goes bust supporting the very problem we are speaking about. This is when all the support calaspes and the tide turns. Mostly because those of us with the opposing view are gonna keep keeping on. Until we are strained to the point of taking back what we have quietly let slip away, chisel strike by chisel strike in the form of fees, taxes, and regulation.

C'mon guys! This is a meme thread!
