Lets See a Pic of Your tow rig and trailer.

Hope it’s an upgrade and I don’t regret selling the 7.3 later. Went from the very reliable but slow 97 7.3 to a 2016 F350 6.7 srw. Towed the Jeep to URE for the first time with the 6.7 this weekend and loved it. Effortless.

As someone who went from a very reliable, very paid for 93 Dodge 12v to a 15 Ram 6.7

Then again, I didn't sell the 93 :D

That's the key...buy more, but keep them all! Now... @CLRracer can we make the 93 a go fast truck? :D Turbo, injectors, cam, a little pump work and you too could make 56 lbs of boost! Stock head bolts and gasket, because I like to party!

For the right price you can make it whatever you want :D But I have plans for her yet. Stay tuned.

So I picked up an 8.1 burb the other day. Sold my dually to @rcalexander105 cause I need to finish the buggy.
Needs a few things. Added a real hitch, Tekonsha P3 controller and he towed like a dream. 75mph at 2500 rpm and 8.5mpg according to the dash.
Had to make a shooting range at the farm today…

Damn I'm jealous; I've been searching on and off for a GMT800 8.1L for about a year now. More or less a cheap beater to clean up really, but everything I've found has been 8500+.

I would sell this for less than $8500 lol

Got any better pics of the yota?
Here are the better photos I have of it. All the other photos are on the trail.

Just a simple 81 mini with a 3rz swap, 40” comp treps on beadlocks, fj60 axles, chromoly axle shaft front and six shooter knuckles. It also has full hydro and exocage.

Picked up a 2006 PJ 28’ 16k trailer today. At least they claim it’s 16k, tag isn’t legible anymore. Should be able to just barely get the CJ and an XJ on it at the same time.

Chances are, the tires are rated to 3,750 lbs a piece anyway. That leaves you at 14k gross and the trailer probably weighs 4k-ish. So, really, you could haul 10k without really making the tires hate life. I'm not sure why all the trailer manufacturers like to fluff up the capacities on their stuff without upgrading the tires...

I know you know this, but with it being a goose, he can put a good bit of weight on the truck, which adds to the trailer capacity. So 16k with 20% on the pin puts it at 3200lbs per tire.

I don't understand any of this! My kaufman trailer is rated at 18k on the tag, even though it has 7k axles. I know that includes tongue weight, but 4k may be a little excessive.

Is it a gooseneck?

No, its a deck over tag along. Thats the crazy part!
Not too many hitches rated for 4k tongue weight

(though I may have flirted with that number on a few occasions )

Would doing that not put more weight on the forward axle vs the rear axle of the trailer? maybe , idk lol
Maybe not to much with the equalizer between axles.

The equalizer will keep the weight pretty well balanced. By design, it forces the weight to float between both axles, or at least until the uptravel is limited.

Should be able to just barely get the CJ and an XJ on it at the same time.
I've got a 25' deck + 4' ramp and get my cj and my buddies 4runner on it with a couple feet left. Can't fold the ramps down flat, but it works. You should be able to get a CJ and XJ on it with no problems.

A slow-going progress getting all my ducks in a row on this K3500, but progress regardless. Loaded up for a trip to the body shop for a DOT inspection, once the inspection is done, I'm hoping the request for a new title will be sent and accepting pretty quickly.
Anyone know a good key guy around the Salisbury area? I've got a few I'm going to try, but majority of interactions so far haven't been good. Seems like everyone is on a 2- or 3-month backlog of work. And I really can't do much with this big bastard until I get some keys cut for it.
