MOTD (Meme of the Day)

On the farm, dinner was the mid-day meal. Supper was leftovers from dinner.

I had one of the kids' friends ask, one time, if he had to have 'supper' for dinner, too.

We usually just bypass the formalities and say 'Jeet'. If the answer is yes, the question becomes 'wudjeet'. If the answer is no...the question is 'wushawannaeet'? Doesn't really matter time of day.

Dinner = Biggest meal of the day.
Which in Mama's House and Grandmama's House, you knew damn well that's supper 6 days a week, and lunchtime on Sundays.

Few things irritate me more than hearing ‘boys will be boys’ or ‘that’s just the way girls are’ or laughing at piss poor behavior when dealing with small children. If it won’t be cute when the kid is 15, 20, 30, etc etc…it shouldn’t be encouraged now. ‘Indoctrination’ typically gets a negative liberal connotation…but it’s basically all parenting is…definining acceptable behavior and thought processes. Admittedly, there are exceptions and personality differences. And that’s where I do believe there’s merit to cyclical nurture over nature.
