Stump Killer

So I had a tree cut down last year and decided to leave the stump (bad idea) and now I am wanting to try and get rid of it without having to get someone out to grind it up. Looking for a way I can do this myself be it chemically or even a more natural way. The root systems spans a good section of my back yard and little trees are sprouting everywhere. Read up a little about adding a stump killer by drilling holes in the stump itself as well any exposed roots. Not looking for an overnight solutions, just want to get one started that's going to work. Any of the stuff from Lowe's even worth checking out?

Your best bet is to call @Danger_Ranger to come grind it. If it is still sprouting, it will be much harder for the chemicals to penetrate and be effective, and it will take several years before it really starts to rot.

Yeah, I was hoping to not have to, but all these little trees sprouting in my yard is really getting on my nerves.

Rock salt is supposed to work well
I also read this as well.

With letting it rot out it’s going to leave a significant hole and trip/entrapment hazard. And with chemicals it could prevent things from growing for an unknown amount of time.

Drill some deep holes and pour epsom salt in. Bath section at any grocery store. Water it down after. Cheap solution. I did it last year on some stumps in my pasture.

I thought I remembered @rq saying to paint fresh stumps with roundup concentrate to kill them. Since this stump has likely healed over, id drill a bunch of little holes in it and fill them up with roundup.

Yes once you cut a tree down, immediately pour pure round up on the stump and it will kill in. The sprouts won't be coming up everyhere and the stumps dies and it rots a lot quicker than it does if you just leave it. You can buy products to put on and in the stump to burn it down also. They're available at Lowes and HD

Do you not have to worry about termites with roundup (or epsom salt) route??? That would be my concern if grinding wasn't an option.

This, had him do one at my house awhile back. Much better than any other method.

Diesel fuel poured into 1/2" holes drilled into the top of the stump and...

24" stump with a chain and 4x4? I want to watch (from a distance)
I think a 4x4 and some chain, and 20lbs of tannerite on the back side with a well timed shot about a half second before the chain gets tight should do the trick. But of course you should soak it with gasoline and light it on fire first. :D
