The NC state line is about 15 miles from my house.Hwy 70 that runs to Weaverville is all two lane mnt road until you get to Marshall NC. Many time there has there been semis stuck on the mountain because their GSP has directed them to turn off of Hwy 70.We had three in about a months time a year or so ago.
