I need some help but and my internet google-fu is lackin'. Specifically, I'm trying to print my Gantt chart and when I go to print, I've got a ton of dead space before and after where the Gantt actually starts.

I always have to play with the print area on Project. Sometimes I also think I click and unclick things and it magically prints they way i want it to. Kinda like how you have to try a usb plug three or four times before it goes in
I think one issue is that I'm using 2013 :shaking:

Edit: Just got off the phone with IT..... "uh....you still have 2013? oh man, yeah I'll try and get you an update but it won't happen today".

WELLLLLLLLL, shit.

MS Project SUCKS! I downloaded free GanttProject when I was planning the company move earlier this year, and found it to be way more user friendly for my needs.

Google sheets can now do gantts also in about 2 seconds also
fantastic as long as you're ok w/ giving google all your long term plans :D

So IT came through and I'm now the proud owner of 2021 and wouldn't you know it, I somehow muddled my way through it and got it to print half normal. Yay me.

Coming from a working stiff that just finished 45 straight 12hr shifts of a shutdown that was scheduled with P6. Fuck. That. Shit. That was the most disorganized shit show I’ve ever seen. Our company has swallowed this whole planning and scheduling thing balls deep and now we have two pencil pushers for every one man with tools in his hands. The dumb bastards still can’t figure out why the work isn’t getting done. :shaking:

There’s a reason why Project Scheduler is its own specialty

As someone who, I think, fits that category there's a reason I stay stressed at work. It kills me when things don't go well for the people in the field. I know what it's like to have to suffer because of poor planning and I try like hell to make it smooth for everyone involved. Including printing it out corrextly so it's easily read.

I didn’t intend to ruffle anyone’s feathers with my post. Just sharing my very limited personal experience with how scheduling works out for us. Believe I’ll readily admit I’m not smart enough to understand it all. That’s why I don’t wear the shiny hard hats.

Not ruffling feathers over here, I gladly outsource the scheduling!

You think you remembered what you did but i never remember the next time I need to print
