I'm not sure how this will play out. I hope the GOA and PSA lawsuit against the NFA wins since Congress has no authority to regulate the items they aren't taxing.

But maintaining the rules of the parliamentarian was a wise choice. Overriding the Byrd rule may have won the battle. But imagine what would happen when the other side holds a similar advantage. They would run through laws that would make your head spin.

Remember, Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) wanted to throw out the filibuster all together. He would be dancing in the streets if Republicans had opened that door.

yeah... the Parlimentarian is there for an exrtemely good, important reason.
Saying "Republicans 'let' the Parlimetarian strip XXX or YYY" really just means "Republicans tried to abuse a defined process and slip things through illegally, and are whining bc it was stopped".

If thsi statement pisses you off, replace it with Democrats and see how you feel. The point is the same. This guy's job is to universally ensure the process is followed. I for one am very thankful its there.

The statement doesn't piss me off. But I find it inaccurate. Getting something pushed back by the parliamentarian doesn't mean anything bad for either side. It means the system worked. If they didn't need to decide on anything, we wouldn't need to have them there.

This was a big bill that wanted to redistribute a lot of resources because the previous administration and COVID response had distributed a lot of resources. The system worked.

I was under for tooth removal(18 or 19 years old).. woke up 5 mins in and could feel everything. Doc didn't believe me till I broke the table I was strapped to trying to grab him. My dad came running in and got him to an upstanding of the situation.

Even 12-14 years ago when I was still out in the shop it was a has been. Only reason they hung in this long was because machine shop owners are too cheap to buy new stuff (even if it saves them money) and so many machinists remember the first time they used a Kennametal turning tool with a carbide insert for the first time back before the Berlin Wall fell and they’ve never been as impressed by anything since.
