A friend asked for some pictures of the Indian fish weir in the yadkin as you go into elkin. These turned out way better than I had planned.

Went to The Depot at Gibson Mill in Concord. It’s an old mill they’ve converted into a huge antique mall, complete with two breweries, restaurants, and bars. Here’s a few of the interesting items I spotted there.

24 year old Cheerios.

I had these as a kid. Didnt they come from Hardee’s?

Cool place, I used to go there a lot and got some cool stuff. You should have got Sambo. They are high because of location. I have a few other places to find treasures that aren't so bad.

Is that the place owned by Tom Cotter?

Yeah, the California Raisins were from Hardee’s. I had the whole set as a kid.

We had a good time visiting The University of Maryland for football yesterday. They have some pretty killer facilities. I grabbed a vrbo in DC last night, so we're about to check out some sights today, then head home.

I tried to see @RatLabGuy , but he said he didn't hang with southerners anymore. Or, maybe he was busy jumping out of planes. One or the other.

Hope you squarshed some spotted lantern flys during your stay
There's a stupid amount of them things up there around Manassas!

Have 2 surf fishing trips coming up. Decided to make a rig tying board. It works pretty good. And much cheaper to make your own.

I have one somewhere i used for pier rigs ... used it one day for about 3 hours ..... I'll probably never need to roll my own again because I done so many.
BUUT ... lets see how you do it?

Kinda hard to see. But I just tie a big loop at the bottom for the pyramid weight, followed by 2 T knot loops for the hooks, then a barrel swivel at the top for attaching to the main line. I used a cheap pair of foam flip flops from the dollar store to punch out some floats for the hooks. The floats are optional. I used 20 pound fluorocarbon for the rig. Gonna try it out this weekend at Fort Fisher, then next weekend at cape lookout.

You should really use circle hooks. They will help, not prevent, reduce gut hooking for ones you release.
