5.9 Magnum Manual transmission options.

Yes I figured I'd be looking for a transmission until you gave me an option I didn't think about. I have the motor and transmission and working on the right bell housing. Axles and transfer case will be the next hurdles. I have a 231 D I could use but would rather something stouter. I'm stuck looking for freight so why not research and plan/dream.
If you're building an XJ replacement, 5.9/AX15/ your existing doubler would be solid. Same 23 spline output as your AW4. Otherwise, grab a Rubi case and be done.
I'd swap your XJ axles over with a 3 link front (no room for triangulated 4 link w/o belly pan) and 4 link rear. Really a pretty easy build plan.

I have the range box and adapter for chevy 10 spline np203. I never ended up using it because of the added length making the rear shaft too short.

Also, I believe the slider boxes were from Liquid Iron

Yes they are still there except the bolt slider things. Are you referring to the transmission to tcase adapter?

Didn't think about a Rubi case. I plan on wheeling Ghost until it dies or I have something else to wheel. So my current plan is to get this one in behind the race jeep and work on them as time money permit.

I was just saying if you wanted to go with a np203/205 doubler. And you should be able to get replacement parts for the boxes. They work well and make the front very stable. I have them with 1.5 lift spring overs and 40's with no track bar.

Honestly I'd probably not run a 203/205. I'd rather have another gear ratio. I've been wanting a black box for my 205 in my current set up. Also when I posted this I thought I'd be hunting down a transmission. Did not even cross my mind the AX-15 I just pulled could work with the 5.9 motor I have. I really appreciate all the advise and help from here over the years.

I was thinking NV4500 or NP435 with NWF black box and 205. But was coming up empty on finding either a 4500 reasonable or how to adapt the 435 to the motor I have.

That might be an option but I was leaning towards a 3 link front to go with the 4 link rear.

From information I gathered years ago, the Dodge NP435 will bolt to the magnum engine. Or you could use a ford/chevy trans with a dodge bellhousing. The dodge 435 will have 23 spline output so Jeep tcases will work. The flywheels are different, the 360 magnum needs a different flywheel because it is balance different. The flywheel needed for use with a np435 is a factory flywheel from a 94-01 Ram 2500 360 Magnum with a nv4500. The magnum motors use a pilot bearing and sleeve. They came in 94-01 Ram 2500 360 Magnum with a nv4500.

Im with Jody here... Finish the other XJ so you can wheel it, and then pull the parts you want from Ghost to build the YJ. After its together, you can swap the range box or other items as time/cost allows.

Ok so researching Rubi cases. I know nothing about them.... @Jody Treadway Am I locked into a TJ case or is the JK manual case an option? Looks like the auto has a different input?

yes sir. That is an option. Assuming you don't need a functional speedo, it'll bolt right in. You will need new yokes/flanges and likely need to do a cable shift conversion

So Looks like these are unicorns. My research shows that the 00 or 01 got the 3500 and looks like those have an integrated bellhousing. In case you missed it. I'm looking.

That will not work with the AX-15 that I have. IDK what transmission that is from.
Dude's picture doesn't match the description. My bad, bruh.
Looked on Car-part.com just now. There's a good bit on there.

I actually reached out to a couple of those with no reply. After the holidays if one doesn't pop up on eBay or MP I'll start calling. I did find one in GA but he will only sell the transmission with it. It's also a 4 - 5 hour drive.
