blown knee

Good for you! Your doc is a butcher but I hope it turns out well. I've had both done and the first 10 days, you will hate life Take all the drugs, you can get unaddicted later. Do ALL of the PT and make it hurt including tearing the scar tissue, it's totally worth it. Message me anytime if you have questions or comments. Good luck..
I think you may be right about being a butcher or could be how it was glued.
Going back in the morning if I'm still bleeding. Filled my gauze 3 times now.

Will see how it heals. Thanks

I was going to say the exact same thing. That scar is nasty.

My dad had both knees replace in the mid to late 90's. One first, then the other a couple of years later; not both at the same time. Each time they used these huge, God awful staples to close the incision. He had the surgeries when he was in his early 60's. When he passed at the age of 83, you could still see the staple marks and the incision scars.

When to see my surgeon at 8am sharp. Turns out the PA that closed me up did not do a good job. My surgeon is pissed to say the least. They had to express and stitch the wound. I'm not to worried about the scar as I'll have it covered with a tattoo next year sometime.

Make it look like a giant pair of labia, and you can call it your Puna Knee 👍

You made me laugh! Thank you for that..

I am considering speaking to an attorney over this. Wish I had gotten more pictures.

Went back to my surgeon this morning, just wanted him to view the wound and change the bandage. All looks good now. My bend is at 105* and extension is just a few degrees of flat.
I have attached the repair to my wound and an xray.

You brought your boyfriend to an xray???
You know better, because I asked you to come along. You said you were jealous of the Dr. Checking my prostate and refusing to check yours too.. damn girl, stop being mad!🙂

If it's any consolation The scars heal up pretty good as long as you try to tear that scar tissue during pt Left is 3 years ago, right is 5 years ago

Yours heald up well, I just scheduled my first PT for today.

Both of mine healed up well also. Good deal on the PT.

Raising old thread. My orthopedic says its time. No full replacement but the shots are just a band-aid.
Get to get some cartilage shaved and patched up along with a torn meniscus.

Hope its is a short healing and I can get back up to speed before spring bee keeping activity kicks in high gear.

Make sure you look up the infection records and complications for the surgeon. There is a big difference in outcomes based on who’s hammering and drilling on you

Mine started with a tear as a teen. my 4th surgery was the replacement. Everything you're doing is just a band aid until it's replaced.

for me, I did 2 visits to the PT. then downloaded all the exercises and did them at home. I was back to work in 6 weeks.

Good luck!

It has to be publicly available. Usually viewable from the app of your provider. There are also official sources

  • Medicare.gov Care Compare: The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provides a robust tool for comparing hospitals based on quality measures, including complications and mortality rates for common procedures. While it reports on hospital performance, it also includes patient surveys for specific doctors.
  • CMS Provider Data Catalog: A more technical resource that contains detailed hospital performance data. This can be complex for a layperson but is a foundational source for other comparison sites.
  • National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS-NSQIP):Run by the American College of Surgeons, this program is used by many hospitals to track and improve surgical outcomes. While public access to individual surgeon data is limited, hospitals that participate can often provide their own benchmarked results upon request.
  • State Medical Board Websites: State boards license surgeons and maintain public records of any disciplinary actions or professional misconduct. This is a crucial step for verifying a surgeon's qualifications and checking for a history of reprimands.

This is 100% correct! Actually my arthroscopic knee repair took a year to get me back to the pain and discomfort that I had before getting the procedure but that had a lot to do with the quack who did it. Both my full replacements I was back at work in 4-5 weeks. And to a much lesser degree back functioning in two weeks. the first 10-14 days does really suck tho.
