I'm going to put it behind a TH350 trans. Anyone seen some good write ups?

What is a fairly affordable way to get low gears in a t-case that will be behind a chevy 350v8 with a TH350 or TH400?

heres ours on IFSJA doubler
im pretty sure to use a 203 you will need to change the output or the input on the 203, it should be 32 spline on a chevy??
easiest route is to find a th400 with a 203 already hangin off of it.
NorthwestFab makes a good clockable doubler

Cool, thanks man. Is there any way around spending the 7hundo for the doubler adapter. Anyone else make on for less? How's yours coming along?

I used the NWF and I loved it...worth the extra cash to me.
But I had it in front of a TH400. The NWF kit is nice clocking at different times. When I set mine up I had it set right then did something a little different and 4 bolts later it was re-set.

Jeds Machine has a weld together adapter...clock it how you want and weld the to halfs together. He has to shafts resplined and new..I would get the new.

Is the 231/241 doubler about the same price for the adapter?

700 bones isnt a bad price really for what you are getting. i think the offroad doubler is a similar price. 231/241 doubler isnt a bad doubler for something that isnt heavy. i wouldnt trust one in my cherokee. i have everything for my doubler except the doubler!

if this is goin in your cj what setup do you have now? you can also do a 231/dana300 doubler. great lowrange on that one

This is for a new project yj with a 350v8/TH350 trans. I'm trying to decide if I want to do a single transfercase with low gears or do a double case. I'm kind of new to Chevy drivetrain parts so any suggestions are welcome.

the 700r4 did, and i think the 350/700r4 tailshafts are the same... the th350 came with a np208 though i think, and it should be same as 231/241....

well for wellbase sake, id say go with single case...

the 203/205 setup ill ultimately only give you ~4:1, unless you fork out hte $$ for a lo-max gear set... the 231/300 doubler will give you a ~5.2:1 low range with stock ratios....

but if your just looking for low range then d300 or 205 with 4:1 gear set might work for you...

I like the idea of having a dana 300 in it. Would the 231 bolt up to the TH350 or any chevy trans?

Cool, thanks for the info guys. Kinda lost track of the post. It looks like I could actually make the adapter plate for the 241/d300 combo. I think I may go with the 241/d300 combo.

Trying running the 203/300. It'll probably give you a longer driveshaft than most set-ups (except a single transfer case with low gears... but the ones that have all the intermediate gears aren't in the same price realm), and it's something a little over 4:1 I believe.
