kid called me with an issue with the Honda we gave her. ‘09 Accord v6.

Said the battery light came on yesterday and then today it went into limp mode.

On video call I had her and my automotive inclinded middle daughter check the battery with a volt meter and got 11.72v at both the posts and the cables, then had to jump start it and check it again at the posts and got a 10.5v.

This is the OE alternator with 220k+ on it. That’s telling me an alternator is in order.

Anything else that I could be over looking before a pay the shop down there $500 to swap it out?

You could have them take it to a parts store (Oreillys or Auto Zone) and have the battery and alternator checked for free usually. Only other thing would be battery terminals.

Where is she located? If she is around charlotte I can help. Those are usually just an alternator, sometimes oil soaked due to valve covers or vtec.

Damn, that's no where near charlotte, lol. I have several hendrick dealers down there if she's near one.
