Weather

6* at 530 AM and a balmy 7* when I walked the pups at 7 on the way into work.
Malamutes are pretty dang cute until they wanna ride to work with their head out the window
My sister had one when I lived up north and it didn't want to come inside from November until march

I don't know what the temp was last night but I know it was cold. Pool is frozen pretty solid expect where the jets are running..... and I've never even seen it have any ice on it before. I wrapped my pump with insulation, tarped it, and then threw a canvas outdoor furniture cover over it with a shop light on, otherwise I think it would've been bad news. I've got a few projects to complete after this winter so next time won't be as stressful lol.

This morning it was 5 deg F and wind chill -1. I think the high is 20? Tomorrow's supposed to be worse.

My dumbass started the avalon with the wipers frozen up and (hope) I blew the wiper fuse. That's a future me problem to trouble shoot, jumped in the Camry and took that to work.

My little 11 pound poodle is nearly refusing to even use the bathroom outside. He sniffs around, starts to lift his leg, gets a shot of that cold air on his belly and goes “nope”. Puts his leg back down fast and keeps sniffing around. I’m yelling at him to hurry up and pee before we both freeze to death 🤣
He just wants you to show him how its done. Hang it on out there big dawg!

Pulling 3 inches of frozen grub worm out of 6 inches of bib overalls while duck hunting is a feat! I'm proof!

Well, considering they are already calling for it, it will be approximately nothing...
Also, atleast on the western side of the state, any real storm we have seen in the past, has come from the South/West. I know there has been Nor'easters that have gone up the coast, in the past, but something coming that far inland seems improbable.

I think since last weekend was a swing and a miss, they're all playing it conservative on this one. And everyone is like "not this shit again" and is going to take it less serious, so we're really going to get hammered.

I was disappointed in the last storm. Like everyone else I am prepared this time, to be disappointed again.

Nothing will happen.

So there is a ton of generators for sale and another big potential storm coming. Wouldn't you feel stupid if you sold/returned generator and needed it the next weekend
I was talking with a dude from work about that. He was going to return the genny he just bought, I kept asking him why wouldn't you just keep it? He kept responding "why"? What do you mean why? This went back and forth for a bit and he then tried selling it to someone at work

A bunch of places around me had signs posted in the aisles and checkouts that no returns would be accepted for “storm related items”. I’m not sure what all that meant but I consider it fair. If you get your panties in a wad and over extend yourself monetarily hoping to skate by and return stuff the next week, welp, sucks to suck nerd. Was the same when I lived in Louisiana. It amazed me how people (who lived there full time, for their whole life) weren’t prepared for impending hurricanes. They’d go buy the stores clean of EVERYTHING survival related and then a week or so later you’d see it available on FBMP or CL or….. that how I got my current genny. 10k electric start inverter style that I paid less than half for. He it for 9 yrs now. Keep non eth in it and run it out with the fuel cutoff when I use it and it just keeps going. Still has the same battery in it for crying out loud.
