Based on year and engine it will have a 4.63 H233B in it. Would be spring under 2WD. You did not say exactly what you are hunting for.

Looking for a rear axle to replace one that has 350k miles and a shattered pinion. It’s in a 4wd truck I believe a 1998 model but I’m assuming any rear with that gearing could be made to work2001 Nissan Frontier Used Auto Parts | Greensboro

Based on year and engine it will have a 4.63 H233B in it. Would be spring under 2WD. You did not say exactly what you are hunting for.
1998 model year was only offered with a 4 cylinder and the C200 rear axle (similar to a Dana axle with cast housing). The V6 came along in 1999 with the H233B axle which is like a Toyota with a stamped steel housing. Only in 1999 and 2000 were both 4 cylinder and V6 offered in 4wd, 2001 and later 4wd was V6 only. 4wd Frontiers are all spring over and four channel ABS. The 2wd axles do not have sensors at the wheel ends for for channel and instead had a single sensor on the pinion snout for three channel ABS as well as being spring under.
Also check car-part.com for an axle; I have really good luck finding parts there.
