Random pic thread.

Never met you but from what I have seen here on the forum, you are good people. Definitely wouldn't have hesitated to jump in on that trip with you. It looks like you ate good and I love a cross country road trip! Don't know that id still be alive after being up 3days though 🤣
My riding buddy ended up in the hospital the day before and I wasn’t gonna let a good mission die lol. Challenge was accepted. I love a good road trip. I’m slowly melting into my couch now though haha

It's not real often I get to enjoy a good view for lunch when im on the road. But the McDonald's in Pomeroy, OH has a dang nice little picnic area. Wasn't in a big hurry (for a change) so we sat down and ate and read for a half hour just enjoying the river.

Found a great deal on a BH286. Drove out to Lincolton to snap it up.....a super sweet 65yo woman was selling it AND an old AC D-17. I am braced for the worst (fighting to load this Bush hog onto my rental trailer...but that is what you do for a deal!).

She jumps on this old tractor, fires it up, lifts the Bush hog up and backs the tractor up to my trailer (that was parked on a hill) and drops the thing as close as she could without driving onto the ramp. Just when I think this woman is my spirit animal, she walks me around and shows me her TJ and JK (both with 6 speeds) and under a sheet in the garage, a split bumper camaro (71 IIRC) with a blown 6.0l LS, 4.56 gear, high stall TC, and MANUAL BRAKES!

Went and picked up a 54" tilt bucket for my mini yesterday.

Then I got out my new favorite toy and finally hooked it up to the mini. I mowed for about 2 hrs until it got raining so hard I couldn't see in the dark. Little action shot from my driveway camera

Took Delaney to see The Machine, a pretty popular Floyd cover band. Great show.

We've now seen them, Floyd Nation, Several Species, and Echoes. She's loved them all but now sees the value of smaller clubs over seated theaters.

I could really use something/someone like that to clear my creek bank. Not sure I could afford you making the drive, haha.

So we went for ice cream last night. There is a ā€œcowā€ statue in the store. Well three 4 year old boys decided to crawl under the ā€œcowā€ and pet its ā€œudderā€. Pictures of said ā€œcowā€. Pay close attention to the ā€œudderā€. The face tells it all! The wife pretty much lost it. Good times in Gibsonville.

It is the most satisfying thing to do. I've been wanting to keep the creek along my driveway mowed for years but refused to try to do it with a weed eater. I was making short work of briar thickets all while I was drinking beer, and listing to music with the ac blasting.

I haven't hired out to do any yet, but I think you could expect somewhere around $120-$140/hr with a 4-8 hr min. Although I've talked to a few farmers that say they've been using the same guy for years and he only charges $90/hr.

$140-150/hr depending on what is being cut. 1hr mobilization fee for small jobs <4hrs. Thats about the going rate over this way. I’ll run a buddy’s equipment every now and then for him and we will knock a little off if the terrain or what we are mowing isn’t too gnarly, in the area already etc. If I have to do it with my batwing it’s $150/hr take it or leave it. Exceptions for friends and other farmers in a pinch. I won’t quote per acre like the flat landers do because of all of the rock and side hill work.
