So my dad has worked with wood his whole life. GC and then moved to custom homes focusing of cabinetry and finish work in the latter years. He loves it and, to me, he is good at it. He has picked up a couple small things lately and I’ve been trying to convince him to put them to market to add some $$ to his pocket. Something he has found lately is making wood bookmarks. Lightly stained but the wood he has is very unique. This is some velvet mesquite he brought back from this years trip to Arizona. But he has done maple, cherry, walnut, oak, and ash amongst others. Everything is legally sourced but the grain and coloring is just gorgeous to me.

What say you? If you saw this what would you pay to have a custom, made in America piece of artwork?

Note: these aren’t finished just rough cuts of a piece he got this year. He usually adds a small “tether” to the top.

Just bought a custom bookmark yesterday, but I always need another one... are they just stained? Or can he do designs and such? Price point? They'd have a small market.

That’s kinda up in the air right now is finish type and any sort of markings. Just kind of a feeler post gathering info from a group I trust to be honest about such things.
