Only applies to tires for people who don't care about tires:
There are some exclusions to the new rules, according to the CEC:

  • Competition tires designed for motorsports
  • Winter-type snow tires
  • All-season winter performance tires
  • Used and retreaded tires
  • Deep tread tires
  • Tires designed for ATVs and other off-road vehicles
  • Large off-road tires for use up to 99 mph
  • Motorcycle tires
  • Temporary-use spare tires
  • Small tires with ≤13-inch nominal rim diameter
  • Limited production tires (<15,000 per year)
  • Tires sold for use on an emergency vehicle
  • High load index tires (122 or greater)
  • Tires not capable of sustaining speeds over 50 mph
  • Space saver tires

yea, 95% (estimate) of drivers just want a safe tire at a good price

but tires are not the issue at all. Its the complete lack of sense on road design, rule enforcement, and crash cleanup that wastes millions of gas every day.

just this morning there was a 5 mile (measured) back up of cars on 40/70 west.......2 lanes of cars, idling, for 5 miles. 3000 cars sitting in the heat for an hour. Not sure how tire tread makes that more efficient?

All because of a 'fender' bender' on the inside barrier due to some moron texting and merging. I see it daily. Have you seen how slow the cops/ems move at crash scenes? Its almost like they want to cause as much pain for others as possible.

Backups like this happen every day, in all cities all over the USA. Millions of gallons of gas straight wasted.

Humans have to be the dumbest species ever. How dare they actually address the real issues.

I often think my profession is going to be taken over by AI, then people do retarded shit like this; stuff so retarded that a computer probably wouldn't predict it and i realize my role in workplace safety is secure until I at least retire in 10yrs or so LOL

AI is nothing more than the general aggregate of the internet. That's why it always gets dumber and more malicious. We may not be safe, but our jobs are.
