Hi everyone, my name is Dennis, and seeing as that I'm 18 it looks like I have to get approval from someone I know on here in order to be able to post in other sections, which I don't... but I figured I would at least stop by.

I've always been into trucks (mainly diesels), but have just recently started to look for something that won't get stuck on wet grass like my Dodge.

Being a senior in high school I really don't have much to spend on a 4x4 vehicle, I'm looking for something under $1000, always keeping an eye out on Craigslist. I've found a couple things that I'm interested in, still waiting to hear back though.

Here is a picture of me installing my gauges on my dually.

Heres some of the things I've currently done to my truck:
  • 1996 2WD Dodge Ram 3500 Dually
  • 12v Cummins
  • Freshly rebuilt trans with Goerend single disk low stall TC and valve body.
  • "Killer Dowel Pin" tabbed
  • "BHAF" - Big Honkin' Air Filter
  • 4" Downpipe into 6" side dump exhaust... straight piped of course
  • ISSPRO Pryometer+Boost+Trans Temp Gauges

Now that I've got the gauges in I'm ready to grind the fuel plate and crank the starwheel out and order a 3k GSK, but lately I've been busy with school and such and by the time I get home its almost dark.

A little more about me... I have no experience with driving off-road, and the first 4x4 "vehicle" that I have owned is a little Yanmar diesel tractor. Here is a video of it pulling my truck out... you guessed it, it got stuck on wet grass .

My family has a small 6 acre "farm" on the outskirts of Chapel Hill, we have 2 horses and I really love this place, moved out here from Durham in the Summer of 2007.

Well, I apologize for the long post, but like I said I just wanted to stop by, and even if I can't post at the very least do some reading.

Thanks!

Dennis

Welcome Dennis. You know, all you had to do was ask. I'll sponsor you.

Truck is looking good. Gonna have to get your's on the rollers next time DTR does a dino day. No excuses this time.

Not many decent ready to go wheelers out there in the under $1000 segment...but we will find you something. I might have a Bullnoze around here somewhere that would get you in a runner for about $1000 and a couple of weeks of work.

Good looking dodge, sure makes me miss mine. No need to order a GSK kit just do the washer mod yourself. Cost me like $4 and i never had a problem with mine. My truck would rev to about 3300 rpm after the washers. Oh and it needs stacks. And welcome.

Uhh, no. The washer mod works for SOME, not all. And regardless if it works, the throttle is smoother with a GSK. That's also been proven.

Let him modify the truck the right way, instead of the cheap way.. He's already put in a good trans, shows that he likes doing things right the first time.

welcome, and i see your truck around town all the time. and at school also. i drive a white 4runner with red wheels and a black toyota that used to have the red wheels on it and a wooden flatbed. the black toyot a is forsale. PM me if your interested

Hey, I think you live just down the street from me, I have seen that flatbed parked in a house off of Hatch road before. I live on the corner of Hatch road, right past Harward lane, with the "salmon" colored barn and the single story brick house and the 2 horses. I've seen your truck drive by from time to time too.

the ol yanmars...got one just like that
