Riding mower on the semi-cheap?

Rich, Simplicity makes a great mower, the same quality the JD and Snappers have for about $1k cheaper, built in the USA. See if you can find one used. I love mine.

What part of Pa. are you moving to? Not near Philly I hope!

Hell no, we're moving to the part of the country where people "are clinging to their religion and guns" :D

I guess the lazy boy mower is a little red for you? You'll have 2 yankee neighbors that will complain about the junk you have now and you'll be begging me for the mower.:fuck-you:

I love it.. especially the race plastics.. It's :huggy:

So we're moving up to PA and I have about an acre of lawn to mow, as well as an acre of "grazing land" to just cut down (i figure just set the deck to the highest setting and go).

I used to cut 1.16 acres with a 42 inch desk. It took hours. If you can - get a wider deck. It wasn't as much a problem to cut it after work when daylight savings time was in - but once the days got short it took 2 days of after work to cut it.

The mower is a MTD from Lowes and is a piece of crap. I have to replace to front axles - they sheared of at stub. It had to replace the main drive pulley form the engine. The biggest expense was the hydrostatic rear axle. I'll bite the bullet on the rear axle as being my fault. Unknown to me a - piece of line got wrapped around the axle and ate the seal. Once the lube was gone the axle was toast. It was cheaper to replace than rebuild. The plus side to this was that the parts were always available by order from Agri Supply.
