'93 ZJ wheel fitment issues?

I read somewhere that not all Jeep wheels would fit some models of Grand Cherokee. I'm thinking this probably has to do with brake clearance?

Anyway, I have a '93 ZJ Laredo and trying to get rid of the ugly stock aluminums and replace them a little newer OEM Jeep wheel. Someone is offering up a set of Wrangler 15x7 (like on the TJ below). Would those work on my ZJ?

Are there any wheels that wouldn't fit, stock Jeep? Thanks.

I do know TJ Rubicon wheels fit. Don't really know the BS of those or what is pictured, but if they are the same, then I'd say they would fit.

It's the newer grands that have that issue. your jeep has the common 4.5" bolt pattern. The 99+ grands have a 5" bolt pattern. Tj wrangler Canyon wheels (as pictured above)will fit just fine, and usually have less back spacing, allowing wider tires to not hit your controls arms.

I'll be getting something besides the stock '93 ZJ rims (hate them) but it ended up that the ones up above aren't close enough to me (though the $80 price is nice).

I'm not concerned about the tire width since I got a skinny set of swampers for it.

So when I'm looking at wheels, I can look at TJ, XJ, and ZJ wheels, but not ZJ '99 and later? JUst want to make sure I'm clear on that.

Yeah, AFAIK there are both bolt pattern and caliper clearance issues with the 99+ grands. The Akebono or Teve calipers for the fronts are too big to stuff inside a lot of the standard 15x7 stockers.

To answer your questions more to the point, your '93 zj should have the same front setup as a TJ, steering and brakewise.

And to clarify, 99+grands are body code WJ so if it comes from a ZJ you're good to go.
