HP Dana 44 caster angle?

I'll look at the alignment computer on monday. PM me with the vehicle info that the axle came out of, I'll send you the factory specs to make it steer right.

It should be between 0 and 1 degrees. I am taking care of the same issue on my rig. I have the same axle and used the 7 degree bushings, my caster is right at positive 3. I am trading out with 4 degree bushings to set it about 1 degree.

The pinion should be rotated in the direction the pinion would go down so that it has 4-6* caster. It will be different on each knuckle which it where you check it. I think it's 2* difference so set one side 4* and the other 6*.

The more caster you can run without ruining your pinion angle the better. Caster makes things feel more stable on the road, thats why Mercedes runs at least 6 degrees positive. The less caster you have the more your steering will wander due to changes in the road surface. If you set the right side with slightly more caster it will compensate for the crown in the road, to get rid of a pull to the right. I don't know about the 2 degree difference suggested, seems a little much to me. With passenger cars, 1/4 to 1/2 degree was all that was needed. I've done over 10,000 alignments, with very few comebacks. Not blowing my own horn, just sharing my experience. Do what is best for your own circumstances.

More than .5* difference side to side may not make it pull driving down the road, but it will make it pull when you brake. It will pull to the side with the most.
