Planning on putting a 4.5" re lift on the XJ. Wondering if theres any tips on what I should do. I know im gonna need a SYE and a new driveshaft. But anything else?

you might get away without the SYE, you'll find out when the lift is done.

I'm not sure if the RE kit comes with new bumpstops or just adds on spacers. If it reuses the front bumpstops, inspect yours beforehand. If the XJ has over 100kmiles, the factory bumpstops probably dont have much life left....replace 'em when you have the coils out.
Same applies with the rear, but the rears can be done at any time since they're not buried inside the coils.

If you put an sye and 4 1/2 lift on you can run two front xj axles, one in front and one in the rear.

Inexpensive set up, plus that way it is easy to carry a single spare and your good to go.

You could possibly get away with just using a TC drop and shim the rear axle. Of coarse it should only be a temp fix if funds are tight. Works for me though.

I have 3 inchs on my xj ( 99 model ) I ended up making a TC drop ( Out of 1 inch stock. Drilled holes and cut to size.) and shims in the rear.. i know i probly should get a SYE but hell, ima run it this way till i get problems.. i dont plan on going any bigger.

Lots of PB Blaster on all the bolts for a day or two b4 you try to install. Especially the rear upper shock bolts.
