WNC/TN day rides

Nice, I live about 10 min. from the parkway and never think to explore it much. There are some forest roads near here but I wasn't sure if it was trespassing if you rode them, I might check some out today.

The Forest Service roads around Linville Gorge are fun, lots of wildlife and gorgeous views, camping, various levels of hiking, etc.

I love to go up that way just to ride around. Let me know if you want more info.

In the Morganton/Marion NC area is where the Gorge is.

I am overly curious, what route did the Garmin take you?

This thread makes me want to go up there and check it out for myself! I wonder if the Yukon can handle these trails.

I want my rover for the trails, but the Yukon for the drive up there and back!

I love Linville! I backpacked there a few times before I moved up this way. Unfortunately my high maintenance fiance isn't too keen on the hiking/carrying all your gear. Hiking boots to her are the 32" grizzly grips on the Jeep. That's why I'm gearing more towards expedition use so we can car camp, just not parking lot camp. Actually get out to some places, thanks for the input guys!

HWY 25/70 close to hot springs. There is a sign "wolf creek baptist church." It's the entrance to lower wolf creek, upper is blocked off. My Commander barely squeezed through, it gets real narrow in spots. The guys that came and got me, one had a Tahoe and he could only go a couple hundred yards down the trail, they had to hike and bring 4 wheelers to get to me. A Wrangler or Sami wouldn't have any problems or something that size.
