Since most of the members of this forum are local, I thought I would post a link in case anyone wanted to get involved.

The American Cancer Society is having a fund raiser in Charlotte on April 3, 2010. The event, Dogswalk Against Cancer, includes a short morning walk just outside Uptown Charlotte. The walk starts at 9:00 AM and the event should wind down before lunch. Registration for the event cost $20 and includes an event tshirt and goodie bag for your pup. Anyone can join in and help raise money for a great cause.

If you don't want to participate in the walk itself, you can sponsor a team using a credit card at the event's website. Donations are tax deductible and you will receive a receipt for your records after donating.

My team, Team American Mastiff, would appreciate any support you can provide. I hope to see some of out there in April.

Interested, and have 2 St. Bernards and a Pomeranian I would be walking with...odd combo I know....but there mine  Do you have to walk with a team?

Nothing wrong with that combo, as long as they get along well. I'm betting the Pomeranian tries ruling the roust.

You can register and walk as an individual. Just follow the first link and click the button to join a team. The next page gives you the option to start a new team or participate as an individual.

It me know if register so I can look for you at the walk.

The wife and I will probably be participating with our Black Lab. Sounds like fun and for a great cause.

If the turnout is anything like the "Barktoberfest" they held in October, it will be fun.

If a group of people from the forum plan on participating, maybe a team should be formed representing NC4x4.com (with the site owners permission) or just 4 wheeling in general. Good publicity raising money for a good cause. A win/win in my book.

Congrats man I'm glad to hear that. I actually know a few cancer survivors. After seeing how hard it can be it's nice to know you can help any way you can.

Sorry I haven't checked the forum in a while and missed the bump. There was a big turnout for today's walk. They were expecting 450-500 people to sign up and ended up with more that 600. Huge crowd, great weather, lots of dogs, and almost $60,000 raised for the American Cancer Society.
The Dogswalk Against Cancer is an annual event that takes place the first weekend in April (in case anyone is interested in walking next year).
A couple random pics and one of my team, Team American Mastiff.
