So this morning I found out my gmail account has been hacked. Everyone I've ever sent an email to on my email acct, they received a link with a .exe file in it :shaking:.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I don't know what to do about it. I've run virus scans and all that jazz but haven't found anything. I think its just in my gmail account.

Also it just affected that one acount.

Any advice would be appreciated and if you received a random email from thomasonphoto@gmail.com, don't open it! Thanks.

Change your password right now, then delete the "sent" emails. You should be fine after that. make sure to make your password hard to guess, put some numbers, capital letters, and some symbols (%&*) in it as well.

Check your mail forwarding. I had the same thing happen about 2 weeks ago, and they had changed a setting to forward mail to another account. That way when you change your passwords and such they get the email.

Thanks. I've done both of those things but I'm going to keep running scans and crap just to make sure.

It sucks because now all the people I don't want to take to are emailing me

Just out of curiosity... was it a strong password to begin with?

lol, at WFU alot the staff have their UserNames and PassWords tape onto the monitor.

any student could walk in and get on a staff computer.
