Last week I finally got tags on the $400 craigslist jeep that I bought 2ish years ago and that Wwildman helped me lift (let's not kid ourselves, he did all the work).
Well, went to Greenville, NC for the ECU Purple/Gold Spring football game. This was Shenannigan's (the Jeep) first long trip and she got there with no issues at all. I was a proud papa.
The trip home was a different story. About 10 miles outside of Greenville on 264 she went BOOM. I was cruisin' at about 70mph and out of nowhere she just had a bit of an explosion and I pulled to the side of the road.
Here's what I saw underneath her...

What you can/cannot see is about 6 or so holes and a few internal dents:)
So, she got towed to a buddies dealership in Wilson and we'll learn in depth about the damage and start exploring options.

I know it's not a trail related injury, but she was only a week old in her "operating" condition.
Thought I'd let you know.

ah man that sucks!

Monday mourning (spelling IS correct) update

Got a call this morning with the damage report.

Broke 3 rods in my bulletproof 4.0 :shaking: hehe.

Now we are going through the options and prices for a heart transplant.

More to come as journey continues.

haha, im in the same boat...... sort of. in a stroke of brilliance a few weeks ago i took my xj through a mud hole that was a tad too deep. she sucked up what seemed like a few gallons of water but didnt mess anything up too bad, or so it seemed. got it running and drove it for 3 weeks and put right at 700miles on it. then, without warning, saturday night just cruising along something internal let go. big boom followed by a lot of shaking and horrible noises. im parking it till i get around to doing a heart transplant, im on the hunt for a new truck at the moment. got a good line on an 06 f150 in garner :huggy:

Check out Foss in Greenville for a replacement 4.0. They have axles and motors for CHEAP, but they are a mon-fri shop which kills it for me. They have my axles for like 75$ but I can't get to them!

I'm just confused how is this a blessing in disquise?

Currently looking for a donor heart from junk yards and weighing those options with the "turn-key" $2200 solution. Things being considered are timeliness of She-nay-nay's return, warranty, and price.

Other opinions welcome.

I'll keep you informed.
