whats the scoop on newer VW Jettas

Lady at work has a 2004 VR6 Jetta. She likes it, but it is always breaking down. Can't tell you how many lunch hours I spent troubleshooting that thing. It is driving her nuts now, she wants to get rid of it but they won't give her crap on a trade with the SES light on. She's been fighting that light for over a year now.
 
JeepinMatt has a Passat TDI he loves. I'm in the market for a TDI as well. Great little cars. Not the fastest things on the market, but they have nice interiors and a good ride. You can't beat the fuel mileage on the TDI either. (40+ on a bad day)
