my computer is acting rediculously slow.

anyone have any ''easy button'' help to offer. I did the CC cleaner, but that didnt really help any. I'm not a computer wiz either...duh:lol:

Maybe a virus cleaner that I can do with a push of a button.

Thanks in advance.

reboot into safe mode (F8 at boot) -- chose "safe mode with networking"

Open up your browser

go to malwarebytes.org and download

install, update, and scan (all while in safe mode)

let it clean/delete what it finds

reboot normally and see what happens.

Another good one to use for getting rid of computer nasties is Superantispyware. Just go to superantispyware.com, download the free version and then run a good complete scan. I actually use it along with Malwarebytes to stay sparkling clean. If it's still acting up after all that, you might try signing up on the Bleepingcomputer.com site. It's a great help forum for all kinds of computer issues. The geeks on there have helped me out a couple of times.

whens the last time you did a clean and defrag?

:flipoff2:May be your chair is on the cord!.....Oh wait.....you're standing!

For you folks who are concerned over adware, spyware, and the like, I got an email from UFWDA informing me that their online magazine, The Voice, was ready for my viewing pleasure. After following the link and it starting to load, my browser blocked it as a tracking cookie was attempting to load and extract whatever info from my computer. The culprit was stats.zmag.com and it is listed as a malware site. I've informed United of this and am waiting to see what they do about it. This is just info... you use it as you see fit.
