I just got a 95 grand cherokee limited w/ quad trac case. Is there a way to change the case so I can have two wheel drive. Any input is appreciated.

look on JF in the ZJ tech FAQ there is alot of info there

late 94 is when it changed to 23 spline.
he can also use a 96+ but he will need a 96+zj rear driveshaft.

Actually, 91 and newer 6 cyls are 23 spline. Assuming the input shaft protrusion length is correct, any 91 and up, 6 cyl 231 will work. 4 cylinder 231's are 21 spline if behind a 5 speed, 23 if behind an auto.

All of this just to confuse the OP a bit more...

i have a 95 orvis edition, i wanna do the same thing. Any difference with the v8 instead of the 4cyl? i can just pick up a 242 older then 95 and it should be the same?

Whats the difference between a 231 & 242
The 231 is a part time only case, the 242 is a full time or part time case. Basically the 242 has a differential in it for full time use, allowing different rpm's to the front and back axle.
