Random Thoughts.....

I would gladly mow my grass if I had any. But after several attempts with no success, I'm just waiting for the weeds and what not to get thick enough to be worth mowing. For now I just wait until what's there is 4 feet high and hit it with the brush cutter.

I injured my neck in mid Sept of 2024. I had just done my reseeding a few days before. I couldn't mow my grass, so for the first time in my life I had to pay someone to do it. They mowed through the end of that year and blew all the leaves too. Come spring, my neck had recovered enough to mow, but my wife convinced me to just let them do it. That was a hard pill to swallow, but have I enjoyed having that time back in my life. It use to take me close to 2 hours to mow, edge, and blow. They charge $75/week, then $115/week during the fall when the leaves are heavy on the lawn.

In the Soviet Union there was a 3 mile queue to pick up the daily ration for beets. One of the queuers exclaim 'this is outrageous. I'm going to kill Stalin.' As he leaves a man in the queue shakes his head in disbelief.

The angry man returns to the queue soon after and the man that shooks his head pokes fun at the situation 'Hah. Came to your senses before going through with it.'

'No.' says the angry queuer. 'The queue to kill Stalin was twice as long.'
