You may be able to rob the switches from a junk yard. The wiring may already be there in the steering wheel and you just need to plug it in.
My 2500HD didn’t have cruise, but I just got a switch from a parted out vehicle and looked up where those wires pinned into the module and bam, I had factory cruise.

The OBS Fords were like that, I added cruise to a couple. I haven’t researched these yet.

I think when they switched to the newer body style they didn't add cruise on any newer models because the tow trucks and rollbacks already have it.
