Glad to hear you got the zippers working. I figured they just needed a little work. The CJ dash on a YJ tub is easy. The dash itself just bolt up to the existing holes in the tub with no modification necessary at all. The only part that was a little tricky was getting all of the heater controls and vents to work, especially the defrost since a CJ's defrost vent goes behind the dash through the cowl and YJ's go in front of it. If want, I can take pics of how I worked around it.

that would be great.i thought the actual metal part was a bolt in.if you think of any other little issues just let me know.

Made some progress on the Jeep this weekend. @Roscoe77 came over and we started building a console...

We started out building a rough skeleton with slotted angle:

And started skinning it with 1/16" steel

Almost finished product with dual winch control, cb, triple sticks, auto shifter, cup holders, and 5.25" speakers:

Working on the finishing prep, paint, and final install this week.

Wow man, either I am away too long at a time, or I neglect to visit with my friends....That thing is coming along awesome. I bet most people would be amazed at what you get done considering the Jeep barely fits in your garage. Looking good buddy !:beer:

Work has been killing me lately, but I finally got a little bit of progress done.

I built some speaker mounts for my components, and installed a 5 lb fire extinguisher.

Finished plumbing the fuel cell. I ended up going with an E8248 instead of the E2000 I had originally planned on. I went with the FATS style rollover valve routing from http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/Fuel_Cell/

Installed a RADesigns Baja II shifter and some USB and power ports in the console.

I also installed a Ford Contour electric fan with what I'm affectionately calling my Euro-Trash fan control system. I used an 80 amp continuous duty relay that feeds a cooling fan relay from a 90's Volvo. To control high and low fan speeds I am using a hose adapter from a Saab 900 with a temperature switch from a 89 Porsche 944 Turbo. The switch will turn on low at 197 and high at 215. This should work out well for the 4.0.

Here's the main relay and the Volvo Relay.

and the Saab 900 hose adapter with the Porsche temperature switch

And I couldn't forget these bottle opener gussets from Motobilt, now it's so much easier to find a bottle opener in the garage.

Also added a Solid diff cover, new hi-steer arms, and had @ol'Jeeps at Metalwerx fab a mount for my new steering ram. Scott and company did great work at a great price!

Nice build. I run the same cooling setup (minus the Volvo relay) with the Beck Arnley switch that you have and Saab adapter. It works well.

This is a sweet build!

Looks good. You taking it to Moab?
Thanks Casey. I wish, but working 7 days a week for the last few months has really set me behind schedule. Unfortunately it looks like I'm still going to have to much to do between the Jeep, tow rig, and trailer to be ready for Moab this year. I will make it there one day though.

Well I finally got it all together and fired it up for the first time in about a year and it turns out my used radiator leaks. So I replaced it with a new aluminum one

Also replaced my old corner guards with some new CJ7 corners from Poison Spyder since my old YJ corners had cutouts for the YJ tailgate hinges.

Installed my Genright front bumper that I won from BadassJeeps in a contest on Jeep Forum. First time I've ever won anything! Ben from Badass Jeeps is a really great guy to deal with, check him out at https://badassjeeps.com/

Looks great. When is it going on the trail?

That's the million dollar question. Hopefully really soon. I've got a few bugs still to work out first. Most notably a lean condition under heavy throttle that I need to get to the bottom of.
