i have a 98 silverado Z71 w 16" rims. my current tire size is 265/75r/16. i found a nice set of tires that are 33/10.5/15. can i mount these or no?!?! thanx in advance.

15" tires won't work on 16"rims. You would have to get 15" rims

You will need to get and adaptor to put 15" tires on 16" rims. It makes the wheel smaller so they fit.

I think Dylan had a set for sale pretty cheap.

Yep. PM Dylan, he can help.

Hey didn't a guy have a tire strecther listed under the classified a while back do a search and find it. When you find it purchase it, becasue it will be great for you to accomplish the impossible!:gitrdun:

hAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

what a question.....I wish that would have been on pirate

if you get them on there, you aren't likely to break a bead off-road

There is no "If"!!!! It is not possible to mount a 15" tire on 16" wheel the bead is made with steel belting in side it so it won't stretch. Heck tires go on tight on the wheel they are designed for, I couldn't imagine even thinking about trying to fit them on a one inch larger wheel.

I have to agree with the Rockcruiser "where do these people come from" :alien:

Pfft, all you gotta do is cone the rim a little bit and it'll slide right on with some grease. You guys don't know :poop:!

In all seriousness OP, look for a set of 15" rims. You can come across them pretty cheap. However, the deal you're getting on the tires may no longer be a deal when you add the cost of new rims.

If you go with 15" rims you will run into a problem with them clearing the calipers. 15" rims would work on 88's,89's and some of the earlier 90's chevrolets. Just try a 15" rim first and check for clearance between the top of the caliper and the rim. You may have to stick with a 16" rim.

Someone in the Tires FS forum was selling conversion Chevy wagon wheels, they are 15.5" diameter, designed to work with 15 and 16" tires.
