Thanks guys!

It's turning out the way I planned. I am very excited. I plan on pressure washing and painting the underneath today. Pics to follow.

Those bed rails look sweeeet. What tcase is that? Got a picture of the length of the jack shaft?

The t-case is a Ford 205. The intermediate shaft is 14" long. I can take a pic for you soon.

Thanks.

14" got it, ive got a divorced case sitting in the garage right now, getting an idea for the length required. Ive seen some guys just bolt the input/outputs together, is your intermediate shaft balanced?

I would think the longer the shaft, the larger the need to balance it.

It probably was before I had it cut down. So it's probably close to being balanced. I would get it balanced if i could. I'll check to see if it still has weights on it.

I didnt realize you had cut it down, any tips on how to keep everything inline and "square"? Notice any distortion while welding?

Saw this heading down 601 around Concord on Saturday, looked beastly :driver:

Thanks man. I'm getting there.

I never really liked those long step side beds, but seeing it on a 4x4, it looks pretty cool. Awsome work truck.......:driver:

Just a note, absolutely no body work was done before paint. I just wanted uniform colors.

Thanks again guys!

Just another update, I am planning on an engine swap. I am removing the 6 cylinder and replacing it with a mild Cadillac 500 and Turbo 425 automatic. Not thrilled about the auto but the 425s are pretty simple and stout enough for anything I throw at it.

I need power as Dan2500Brown can relate with, huh Dan??

I'll keep you posted.

I'm finally driving it!

It tracks great, rides not as rough as you would think, it has low compression in the #1 cylinder but all in all I am very pleased with the mechanicals.

Few pics;

Sorry for all the pics but I'm pretty excited.
Whoa! Here I am cruisin' the web looking at 4-wheelin' parts and... THAT IS MY TRUCK! Not only is it the baddest truck in town, it has some of the best stories to go along with it. I won't get started here, but I sure am glad Ron got hold of it and is treating her like she ought to be treated. Happy trails, Ron !

Thanks Hugh!!! I really love this truck!

Getting ready to install an NV4500 this week. Really can't wait to feel the difference between the TH400 and the 4500 with the New Caddy 500. New thread soon.
