It is official, i have the drivetrain mounted. Will test fit the tub again with everything connected. I am bending the Tcase shifter to make it work better for me.
Did a bunch of things this weekend. Filled the gear boxes with oil. Mounted front driveshaft. I got the body back on and it is staying on. It fits real nice with the 35s under it. Also got the GM alternator mount done on the Zuki motor.
This week i should get the power steering mount done and will have my accessories mounted. And hopefully make some front shock towers.
I got the power steering pump mounted today. still need to clean it up and add paint. This is a Jeep XJ pump. I had a piece of the original bracket and used it with a new bracket i made to bolt to the engine block. I made two slots in the mount and it pivots with the original mount so i can tension the belt.

going through the wiring for the engine management
wiring after junk removed
wire removed
mounds of electrical tape removed from original wire loom
and that is the second pile.
computer mounted and fuseblock
Vehicle speed sensor
had to remote mount it because i am using the military mechanical speedometer.

Well it has been a while. here are some pics of the project since the last post.
I finally drove it around the block for a few laps today. Here is some video.
The motor really seems to power the jeep good. I still have to deal with the EGR code cause it is retarding the timing on the engine and i am not running that good in the higher rpms because of the computer trying to compensate for the emissions. It has pepe and in first and second it can get it. The sidekick 5 speed shifts real nice compared to the original 3 speed. I have a few leaks to deal with, and i still need more attention with the brakes because the booster i think is toast from the brake fluid that pooled up in it before i got it. I cant wait to get it on the road for some higher speeds to see how it does.
Well it has been a while, but i have/had the jeep up and running.
I finally got the motor running after having it fight me with a few issues. The underseat fuel tank was swapped out for a rear mount one, and i am finally happy with the fuel line routing and it is quiet now that i am using an intank wrangler fuel pump. I am gonna go down to 33s under it just to fit a little better and keep the stock axles happier. Main thing i noticed with the jeep is i had a major oil leak at the transmission, even though i installed a new seal it leaked like heck. i pulled the jack shaft and noticed with the samurai slip yoke i had about 1/16 of clearance all the way around the yoke surface to the seal, so it just poured oil out. I searched for a seal that would make it work but none are available. I installed a sidekick slip yoke and it is 1/2 inch too long. And i cant get the Tcase to bolt back in. So as of now i am waiting to hear back from the driveshaft palce to see if they can make the shaft shorter, even though i had it almost as short as i could get it before. So i am waiting for that so i can drive again. i installed a set of corbeaus and cant wait to drive it.
