Hey guys/gals I'm lost on how to look up parts for this motorhome I'm getting:
1979 Fleetwood 454 motor, 3spd Auto trans (4L80?) big ass dually rear LOL (was my first thought when I saw it).
I'm just lost as to what to look up at the auto pars store since they don't list it. The guy thinks it's a Chevy P30??? whatever that is....any advise on this would be awesome so I can start pricing stuff. I was told how to tell the size of rear diff so I'll get the picture and bolts count tomorrow but need to price brakes for front/rear, suspension parts, steering parts, and i believe it has hydraulic brake booster instead of vacuum. thank you very much to anyone who might have knowledge of this stuff.

79 3 spd would be a th400 or th475.

that will b a negative on the trans
oh...any clue of what it would be then...at least the trans shifts like brand new so not too worried there (only 40kmiles roughly)..
from doing some search, the rear is 14bolt 95%sure (it looks as big in the picture as i remember seeing it in person but just dually setup...
I'm going to be replacing the least: calipers/pads/rotors front, rear shoes/hardware/adjusters/cylinders/lines/turn drums, so this is the biggest thing to look up and I'm just wondering if any 78-79 1Ton truck 2wd would have this stuff, if that's what this drivetrain is considered.

I guess it's a 3spd cause the gearshifter only has 1 2 D but with no circle around the D so i guess it means 3spd without overdrive.

thanks gentlemen for all the help so far...after a long day broke down on the highway driving it home, it brutally pissed me off and almost lost my cool. now I'm calmed enough to look up stuff for it but don't know what to look up exactly

79 model should have this as a dead give away
well cool we got the transmission taken care of, thank you. I've been looking online for hours and I see a Chevy P30 apparently is a "motorhome" chassis so do you guys think that I will be good using a 79 Chevy P30 with 454ci and should be good to go for at least the brakes and engine stuff? thanks again

For what?

that's what it was built for.
If u need to ask about reliability of a chevy 454, 400 turbo trans and 14 bolt rear. U sure haven't been paying any attention on here or possibly anywhere

ok cool well I'll go and start looking parts up under that category. thank you
as far as the reliability of the motor/trans/and 14bolt rear...yes i understand completely how awesome these are. thanks

You may have match existing rear brake shoes (diameter and width) There were different sizes made depending on application. Once you start finding matches it should narrow down your vehicle specifications

What are you doing with the RV? Fixing it up to sell it, or are you going to use it?

are you going to use it?

God help us all

So I don't no about a 79 rv, but on mine there is a tag inside on the driver side that has all the info.....

oh no this is a family keeper. This is kind of a "dream come true" just wish I had more finances for it but it will get done over time.

Well it's def a 14 bolt rear..that's all I did today as i spent the day doing other stuff
