I recently purchased a 1987 YJ with a TBI 350, 700R4, NP 231 combo. When I got the heep it had a Pro Crap coil conversion on it which I pulled and Installed a set of Fabtech Military wrap 4 inch springs. The wiring is questionable so I've ordered a Affordable Fuel Inj TBI kit for the 350. The jeep had a set of 33's which I traded for a set of 36 Iroks. I swapped the 35 out for a 8.8 4.10 limited slip. The jeep came with great seats and a new aluminum radiator along with a decent top, bikini top and some other stuff. The jeep also came with an awesome leak between the 700R4 and the Transfer case.

Hood Vents for heat dissipation
Rock Sliders
Flat-ish belly skid
Front 44 or 60 with a locker
New tie rod
Winch
Floor shifter

Its definitely a start. Im trying to score a 44/60 for the front and have found a couple on CL. What I would really like to find is a non vacuum disconnect Waggy 44.

Looks like a great start bro. Looking forward to more progress.

Thanks waiting on the AFI TBI setup. The 700r4 and np 231 have a steel adapter bewtween them thats where my leak is coming from. some people say to use RTV sealant or ultra copper to seal it any recommendations.

Why did you decide to use a AFI harness?

I found several wires that were frayed. The TBI had been messed with such as 454 injectors and the computer had custom prom chips. All in all I just wanted to start with new reliable parts because this is going to be a family vehicle and I want it reliable. I got a good deal on a complete harness, TBI, dizzy, new delco sensors, New VSS, and other little things.

Well some goodies from AFI arrived lets hope this goes as planned...

Well the install went ok. The Tech support guys at AFI are rude as hell but are informative. The jeep runs with no CE light. I still have to finish the final install of the wiring.

I have cleaned up the wiring some and found a place to mount the computer. My only concern is will the heat off of the heater box affect my computer? I may fix a mount where I can mount it in the glovebox. Any suggestions? I also scored a matching set of waggy 44's:driver:

hope your AFI tbi setup works out.
I had a lot of headaches dealing with them, bad parts, and attitude.
a year and a half later I ended up shelling out for EZEFI - couldn't be happier.
the AFI experience was a big waste of time and $$$, but at the time the self-learning systems were JUST coming out.

Yeah the tech support left alot to be desired...

I just picked up 5 36 inch TSL'S that are dry rotted some and I want to groove them and run tubes. Can you run tubes on the highway some and where can I buy the tubes for 36 inch tires?

Yes, done it on two different rigs. Pull the third or fourth leaf. The two times I have done it, we pulled the third leaf. Pulling the smallest leaf probably won't make enough difference to satisfy you.

I can order tubes at my tire shop for you. And yes you can run them on highway and off-road. I've seen tubes ran at 7psi with no problems on 35s
